Watering Hole

Movement Church Children’s Ministry

Kindergarten - 5th grade come to the Watering Hole!

Our Kindergarten – 5th grade students meet in the Watering Hole, where we believe the Bible should never be boring, worship can be really loud, and good leaders always care. Kids get into small groups where they are able to connect with God and each other. We want them to see how God’s Word fits into their lives, to learn how to talk to him, and to build friendships that will last. We use the GO! curriculum, which uses interactive storytelling methods to get the kids involved in the Bible lesson!

What can your child expect to see and do?

When your Kindergarten – 5th grader enters through the check-in room, they will proceed down the hallway to the Watering Hole! Just as animals of all kinds come together at a watering hole to find life-giving refreshment, we come together to find true refreshment from the Living Water offered to us through Jesus Christ! At each service time, the kids experience both large group & small group instructional time. We use the GO! curriculum, which guides leaders to communicate the Bible lessons in fun, interactive ways. These fun methods change every 4-5 weeks. Keep reading to find out how the kids are learning right now!

10 AM Service Watering Hole
and Family Life Center

These students meet in the Watering Hole, playing games until service starts. For the first half-hour, they enjoy an interactive large group lesson, where the leader involves the kids as the Bible story is presented. Singing, object lessons, and Bible verses are also part of this time together! Then the children transition into “small group time” in their own classrooms or areas. During small group, they have the opportunity to dive into the lesson more, get to know the kids around them, and apply the Bible story to their lives. These students also begin in the Watering Hole, where they have free time from 9:30 – 9:45, then they transition over to our Family Life Center (gym) for their large group lesson. This large group time involves the kids in the telling of the Bible story, and keeps them actively engaged! After large group, our 5th graders move over to their own room to dive into the lesson a little more, while the 3rd & 4th graders remain in the Family Life Center to respond to the lesson & learn how it applies to their lives.
