Why Are Global Missions Important?
At Movement Church, we believe every person deserves the opportunity to hear the good news of Jesus Christ. Yet millions around the world still have little or no access to the gospel. That’s why global missions is a vital part of who we are.
Jesus commanded His followers to “go and make disciples of all nations,” and for more than 130 years, The Christian and Missionary Alliance has been working to fulfill that calling. As part of the Alliance family, Movement Church partners with International Workers (IWs) to take the whole gospel to the whole world.
We support our IWs through prayer, encouragement, and financial resources, and we provide opportunities for our church family to participate in short-term missions. Our desire is to cultivate a missions mindset in every believer and to inspire people in our church to consider whether God may be calling them to serve on the mission field.

Ken & Deb
Ken and Deb have faithfully served in Africa since 1987, investing nearly four decades of ministry in one of West Africa's most strategic gateway cities of over 4 million people.
Their calling has consistently been to reach the "least reached within the unreached"—particularly the educated professionals and cultural influencers who often have had little to no meaningful access to the gospel. Recognizing the city's role as a hub for influence across West Africa, they focus their ministry on those positioned to shape families, communities, and nations.
Their approach is relational and holistic, engaging felt needs as a bridge toward meaningful relationships and spiritual openness. Ken is actively involved in executive coaching and leadership development among business owners and organizational leaders, helping them grow in integrity, purpose, and influence.
Deb walks closely with women in the city, offering compassionate discipleship and prayer ministry as they seek the Lord for inner healing, deliverance, and spiritual growth. Together, Ken and Deb are committed to seeing lives transformed at every level of society through the hope and power of the gospel.

Johnathan & Katie
Johnathan and Katie serve as International Workers in West Africa among the Fula (Fulani) people, one of the least-reached people groups in the world, with an estimated 99.9% still without access to the gospel.
Their ministry is based in a small town where a very young Christian community exists—fewer than ten local believers—representing the earliest stages of church life in the region. In this context, Johnathan and Katie's calling is to come alongside this emerging church, strengthening and encouraging its foundation as it begins to take root.
Their long-term vision is to see vibrant communities of faith formed among the Fula people—communities where believers are deeply discipled to know, love, cherish, and proclaim Jesus in every sphere of life: where they live, work, and gather. Through relational presence, discipleship, and partnership with local believers, they are investing in the slow, faithful work of helping the church grow from its earliest beginnings into a reproducing movement of faith in West Africa.

Scotty & Heidi
Scotty and Heidi are long-term missionaries serving in Indonesia, with a lifelong connection to Asia. Both grew up on the mission field as children of CMA and Wycliffe missionaries, and they have continued that legacy of service since 1996.
Scotty and Heidi currently lead a thriving Christian education ministry in Southeast Asia. They oversee an academy network that includes three elementary schools and a centralized junior and senior high school spread across three villages.
Today, approximately 350 students receive a strong, international-standard education rooted in Christian values. The program also includes a dormitory system for older students, providing both academic support and intentional discipleship in a residential setting.
Through decades of faithful service, Scotty and Heidi continue to invest in the next generation of leaders—equipping students academically, spiritually, and personally in some of the area's most remote communities.

Christina Her
Christina Her is serving faithfully in Southeast Asia as part of her long-term vocational calling with The Alliance. She left behind the comfort of family and familiar surroundings to pursue a life of mission and service, committed to seeing the gospel advance in this region.
Christina serves under the aXcess global workers structure as a bookkeeper for The Alliance field office in Southeast Asia. Her work plays a vital role in supporting the mission infrastructure, ensuring faithful stewardship and accountability in financial operations across the field.
Alongside her professional responsibilities, Christina is also engaged in part-time language study as she learns Khmer, continuing to invest in deeper cultural and relational connection with the people she serves. Through both her vocational role and language learning, she is building a foundation for long-term, holistic ministry impact in Southeast Asia.

Daniel & Nayeli Ascencio
Daniel and Nayeli Ascencio are missionaries appointed to launch Inca Link Spain, a new expression of long-term ministry focused on reaching the next generation in Europe.
Daniel and Nayeli have responded to a clear calling to serve in Spain at a unique moment of opportunity. In recent years, the percentage of Christians in Spain has grown from 0.2% to 2%, a shift largely influenced by Latin American immigration. This growing multicultural landscape has strengthened their vision to invest in immigrant families and emerging generations as key partners in sharing the love of Christ across the country.
During their first year on the field, Daniel and Nayeli are focused on building meaningful relationships and a strong network of local and ministry partners. Their goal is to identify strategic areas of service where Inca Link Spain can establish sustainable projects that meet real community needs while also creating pathways for discipleship, outreach, and gospel impact.
Through relational ministry, collaboration, and intentional presence, they are laying the groundwork for a movement that seeks to see lives transformed by the irresistible love of Christ throughout Spain. They are currently congregating in the Christian and Missionary Alliance of Barcelona.
